There was an alarm going off somewhere above her head, a very loud one at that. She was able to fumble an arm out and turn it off without moving too much, but groaned as even that movement set off the pounding in her head.

Too much last night. God, Kade... what were you thinking?

She groaned softly at the light coming in through the partially opened window and buried her head further into the pillow to try to escape it. This set off even more pounding, and it took a moment before it eased enough for her to concentrate again.

It's too warm... what?

Carefully cracking an eye, she looked down and frowned. She was still fully clothed, a blanket halfway twisted around one leg, and the chunky woolen sock on the other leg pushed down around her ankle. A long-fingered hand was draped lightly over her hip, the chipped red polish on one nail reflecting the sun back up at her.

Okay... what the hell happened?

Deciding it was worth the throbbing to find out, she slowly turned over.

Shit.

"Matt? Wake up..."
